Essential Functions & Key Responsibilities
High-end sanding, fairing, and surface preparation
Gelcoat application, repair, sanding, and polishing
Primer and paint preparation
Finish sanding of plugs, molds, and composite parts
Working to high cosmetic and dimensional standards
Reading and following shop drawings, work instructions, and verbal direction
Identifying surface defects and correcting finish issues
Quality documentation and tracking
Troubleshooting and continuous process improvement
Specific, Routine, Ongoing Tasks
Fairing, sanding, and finishing hulls, molds, plugs, parts, and structures for large-scale aerospace and marine projects.
Preparing composite surfaces for primer, gelcoat, paint, and final finish.
Spraying, repairing, sanding, and polishing gelcoat surfaces.
Blocking, wet sanding, buffing, and polishing high-end finished surfaces.
Following verbal instruction and shop drawings from the production manager.
Identifying and working with the design office and production team to correct finish or surface issues.
Keeping a clean and tidy workspace.
Working cooperatively with coworkers, designers, and management.
Recommended Skills
Strong experience with gelcoat application, repair, sanding, and polishing
Experience with high-end fairing and finish sanding
Ability to prepare plugs, molds, and composite parts for paint or gelcoat
Knowledge of primers, fillers, surface coats, and marine paint systems
Ability to identify pinholes, print-through, low spots, high spots, and other surface defects
Experience with wet sanding, buffing, and polishing
Ability to read and follow shop drawings and work instructions
Comfortable working on large parts, molds, and tooling
Strong attention to detail and pride in craftsmanship

Position Summary
Moore Brothers Company is seeking an experienced composite laminator with 5+ years experience to help round out our floor team and support our aerospace composite work. The right person would bring a strong knowledge of autoclave, OOA lamination, and vacuum infusion on large and small parts. We are looking for a skilled, dependable craftsperson who takes pride in their work. Top pay available for the right candidate.
Essential Functions & Key Responsibilities
High end prepreg lamination
Vacuum bagging for autoclave and OOA cures
Vacuum infusion
Reading and building parts to shop drawings
Quality documentation and tracking
Trouble shooting and continuous process improvement
Specific, Routine, Ongoing Tasks
Laminating hull, wing, parts and structure for large scale aerospace and marine projects.
Following verbal instruction and shop drawings from the production manager.
Trimming, assembly and fit out of parts and structure.
Identifying and working with the design office to correct and issues.
Keeping a clean and tidy workspace
Working cooperatively with coworkers, designers and management.
Recommended skills:
Expert knowledge of prepreg lamination, autoclave and OOA
Ability to read and layout shop drawings
Knowledge of Proset Resin systems
Knowledge of Mitsubishi Prepreg Resin systems and cure cycles
